My challenge in this image was timing.  I wanted the western sun to peak through to light the cacti and mesas in the foreground while the brooding storm clouds filled the skies over Zion.

After many attempts, conditions were finally perfect.  The lighting and composition creates the sense of depth and drama I wanted.
