The southwestern United States boasts thousands of well-preserved prehistoric
rock-art sites left by our indigenous people.
The rock records take the form of petroglyphs; images that are pecked, etched,
or carved into sandstone - or pictographs; images that are painted
onto the sandstone with mineral dyes. This particular piece is a pictograph!
